U.S. election: DW on location with eight correspondents

Eight DW correspondents stationed in the U.S. are covering the election of the nation’s future president. They will provide commentary on the electoral proceedings on the night of November 3 - 4 in a special program.

DW will report on the U.S. presidential election in a live special program on its English-language TV channel, DW English, with interviews, reports and up-to-date coverage from key states.

From 1:00 to 10:30 a.m., DW journalists based in the U.S. and experts in the Berlin studio will deliver results and comment on the latest figures, analyses and reactions from around the world.

In a virtual talk show, DW correspondent Sumi Somaskanda in Washington and DW Head of News Max Hofmann in Berlin will talk to German politicians, international experts and U.S. citizens who represent various positions regarding the two presidential candidates Donald Trump and Joe Biden.

Together with the guests, the moderation team will discuss political, social and human rights issues and the importance of the election - especially in the face of the coronavirus pandemic.

Six-week road trip from coast to coast

The program will also include reports from numerous U.S. states. Washington Bureau Chief Ines Pohl and her team talked to people from all groups of voters during a six-week road trip from coast to coast shedding light on the core issues of the U.S. election: racism, unemployment, environment and police reform.

The Election Special will be broadcast as a live stream on DW's online platforms and DW News on YouTube. In addition, the U.S. election will be covered on social media by DW Deutsch, DW Español and DW Arabia.
