Sibylle Lewitscharoff is the daughter of a Bulgarian who emigrated to Stuttgart and there comitted suicide. First she was an accountant, then a writer. Now - at the age of 55 - she's written a book which has left most critics speechless. Rarely has a family trauma and journey into the land of one's forefathers been written with such bitterness, and been so funny and clever. ARTS.21 met the author in her home city, Berlin.
