Employees will be required to work longer as the retirement age has been raised, while at the other end fewer young workers are joining the ranks.
So companies need to take action. Workplaces will increasingly have to reflect the needs of an aging workforce. The ergonomics department at Chemnitz University of Technology is helping to provide solutions in this area. Scientists there have even developed an age simulation suit dubbed "Max" to allow those involved in planning and optimizing the workplace to better appreciate the effects of aging.
