Word of the Week

As a kid at school, we all had classmates who just preferred to hang out by themselves. It's not that these kids couldn't make friends; it's that they actually didn't want any friends. In German, that's called being eigenbrötlerisch (which contains the German words for "own" and "bread"). But these kids aren't nerds either, because nerds usually have a clique of equally nerdy friends. Rather, being eigenbrötlerisch means anti-social in its truest sense - someone who sincerely prefers being a lone wolf and chooses exclusion over inclusion, preferring a life of complete solitude.
