eLearning Africa: DW at Africa’s No. 1 conference on e-learning
May 13, 2014DW will take part in this year’s eLearning Africa Conference in the Ugandan capital Kampala. The theme of the meeting is “Opening Frontiers to the Future”. From May 28th to May 30th, leading experts will discuss how information and communication technology (ICT) can contribute to development and education across the continent.
DW staff will present DW’s new groundbreaking radio program Crossroads Generation at the conference. Part of the successful Learning by Ear educational program, Crossroads Generation is a radio drama about a group of African teenagers. In an entertaining way, listeners are introduced to a number of topics affecting young people in Africa today, such as xenophobia, drug abuse and education. A website, a Facebook page and video blogs complement the radio programs, making “Crossroads Generation” a truly interactive, cross-medial experience.
As part of a media partnership with eLearning Africa, DW will also report about the latest trends discussed at the conference on radio and Social Media. Topics discussed at the conference include how wikis can be used to preserve African history, how SMS can support sex education or Facebook as a tool for university education.
