Five countries sign the Nabucco gas pipeline deal aimed at enhancing European energy security

A deal clearing the way for the construction of a the Nabucco gas pipeline has been signed in Ankara. The transit agreement was signed by Turkey, Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania and Austria. It's hoped that the pipeline, due to be completed in 2015, will reduce Europe's dependence on Russian gas. The Nabucco pipe line could carry up to ten percent of European gas imports.
