The German state where Australian international cyclist Amy Gillett was killed by a motorist announced on Tuesday it had created a special prize in her memory. The award will be given for outstanding fairness and sportsmanship in the Tour of Thuringia, the race for which Gillett was training in the eastern German state of the same name when she was mown down by a car driven by an out-of-control teenage motorist last week. The other five members of the team are all recovering from their injuries in hospital in Jena. Doctors said they two most seriously injured, Alexis Rhodes, 20, and Louise Yaxley, 23, had made a surprisingly good recovery.
