Germans Concerned About Rising Euro

German industry chiefs said Monday the rise of the euro against the dollar is "cause for concern." As of Monday morning, one euro was worth $1.2985, a new record. Since the beginning of October, the euro's worth has increased by 4 percent. "It is, of course, cause for concern and burdens exports," said Michael Rogowski, head of the country's industry association BDI. But economic think tanks said they will not change their forecasts for Germany's growth rate next year. Only if the euro moves across and stay on the other side of $1.30 will their forecast of 1.5 percent growth for Germany be in danger, analysts said.
