Germany lose again at worlds
May 7, 2015Germany suffered its third loss in four games at the Ice Hockey World Championships, as Sweden won 4-3 in Prague.
After an impromptu break in which the glass at the O2 Arena was smashed, Sweden struck first with goals by Moller, who plays for AK Bars Kazan in Russia, and Toronto forward Joakim Lindstrom.
Marcus Kink narrowed the lead for Germany in the first period and Nicolas Krammer put the Germans level half an hour into the game.
John Klingberg scored early in the final period and Moller then stunned the German defence with a spirited game winner. German forward Matthias Plachta then merely added some drama to the game with a 55th-minute goal.
Germany now face Latvia on Frida, hosts the Czech Republic on Sunday and rivals Austria on Monday, with two wins needed for them to stand any hope of progressing.
