A strike by Lufthansa pilots has left thousands of people stranded at airports. This is the biggest industrial action to hit the airline industry in Germany. It has led to the cancellation of hundreds of flights - both domestic and international. Lufthansa is taking legal action to try and stop the strike with a company spokeswoman saying it is hoping for a court decision within the next 24 hours. The strike went ahead after last minute talks between the management and the pilot's union failed to resolve their differences.
