# The German government has denied claims by French president Nicolas Sarkozy that Berlin is planning to clear Roma camps in Germany and deport people living there back to their country of origin. Mister Sarkozy made the assertion after an EU summit in Brussels. The meeting - orginally called to discuss foreign policy - was overshadowed by the topic of France's controversial deportations of Roma people. Sarkozy also clashed with EU commission head Jose Manuel Barrosoe over the issue.
