One man's pleasure is another man's pain. Lewis Hamilton claimed pole position in the Singapore Grand Prix by the tiniest fraction of a second and he took advantage of that in Sunday's race. The Englishman got off to a smooth start and drove his way to a relatively easy victory.

If Sunday was a dream come true for Hamilton, it was a nightmare for Nico Rosberg. The German's car suffered electrical problems, which meant he had to start from the pitlane and was forced to retire on the 14th lap.

"The steering wheel did not work and then the whole car wasn't working," a frustrated Rosberg said. "We need to find out what the problem was because again we have a reliability problem."

With his main rival out of the way, Hamilton delayed pulling into the pits until lap 52. He came out behind Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel, but his fresh rubber gave him a speed advantage, and he overtook the German defending champion, just two laps later.

Hamilton took the checkered flag ahead of Vettel, in the end. Vettel's teammate Daniel Ricciardo came in third, ahead of Ferarri's Fernando Alonso and Williams' Felipe Massa.

The 25 points for a single victory means Englishman Hamliton now holds a three-point advantage over Rosberg in the drivers' standings with five races remaining.
