US President Barack Obama has addressed the nation in a live television broadcast aimed at restoring confidence in his administration's handling of BP's oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. He used the speech to assure the US that he would hold the oil company to account - as well as to urge Congress to support the stalled energy bill that he says would lessen dependence on oil and gas. And he warned Americans that recovery will take time.
