India has successfully launched its first mission to the moon. A rocket carrying an un-manned research probe blasted off from a launch pad in southeastern India at dawn on Wednesday. Its mission is to create a three-dimensional atlas of the moon. The venture comes just a month after China successfully undertook a space walk and some analysts see it as the start of an Asian space race.
