Rosé wine was long dismissed by wine buffs as cheap and cheerful - ok for a barbecue (at least if you drank enough of it). But the popularity of rosé is surging in the US (where sales were up 40 percent last year) and in the biggest rosé producer France itself. John Laurenson reports from Provence on the pink-colored wine now daring to compete with its elders and… well are they still its betters?
