The town's leading politicians have taken a clear stance on the Frosch Club attack: mayor René Wilke of the Left Party would like to see the perpetrators deported - in spite of criticism from within his own party. One of the attackers has expressed remorse for his involvement, saying that if he'd had a chance to settle into life as a refugee in Germany, it wouldn't have happened.
