Klopp appointed as Liverpool's new coach
October 8, 2015Jürgen Klopp has been confirmed as the new manager of Premier League club Liverpool.
Reports on Thursday followed Klopp's journey from Germany to England, as he made his way to Liverpool to sign his new contract.
The appointment of the 48-year-old German had been widely expected ever since Rodgers was handed his walking papers following Liverpool's 1-1 draw with Everton on Sunday.
During his eight seasons at Borussia Dortmund, Klopp guided the Ruhr-region club to two Bundesliga titles and won the German Cup once. They also reached the Champions League final in 2013.
Previously, he spent seven seasons at the helm in Mainz after taking over on an interim basis in 2001, just days after making his last appearance as a player for the then-second-division club. He led Mainz to Bundesliga promotion in 2004.
He is expected to be in the dugout when Liverpool play their next Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur on October 17.
