Netflix Germany launch
September 16, 2014Beginning Tuesday, TV junkies in Germany can mainline 24 hours a day as Netflix goes online, with starting membership fees of 7.99 euros/month. The US TV streaming service is the global leader with total sales of $4.37 billion in 2013, generating net profits of $112 million.
Netflix offers members the ability to view their favorite TV shows, series and cinema films anytime, anywhere on their PCs, mobile phones, laptops, tablets and play consoles. Many can be viewed in HD and UltraHD 4K, with Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 Surround Sound.
Includes content previously unseen in Germany
Besides TV series which have already run, Netflix offers access to series that have never run in Germany such as prison drama Orange Is The New Black. Series developed from cult films like Fargo and Dusk till Dawn are also available. Netflix says it will develop content for Germany according to demand.
Netflix offers German subtitles and dubbing for movies and TV shows in other languages. They also offer English subtitles for some movies and TV shows as well. Users only need to click the title they want to watch to see which subtitle and audio content options are available.
