New unemployment figures due out here in Germany today are expected to show that the global financial crisis is taking its toll on jobs. First indications show unemployment went up this month. One of the towns hit is Reutlingen in the southern German state of Baden-Württemberg. Known previoulsy as a success story in germany, the town's economy is based mainly on the car industry and its suppliers. But now, this sector in particular is feeling the pinch of the global crisis.
