Oil prices jumps to a new record of 139 dollars a barrel - je 07.06.2008 12

Some of the world's leading economies have called on oil producers to boost their output in a bid to reign-in the effects of soaring oil prices. Energy ministers of top oil consuming nations voiced their concern at a meeting in Japan on Saturday. While the United States called on Asian nations to scrap fuel price subsidies to EASE pressure on demand, the world's second largest consumer, China along with India indicated they would continue to soften the blow for their consumers. So with little sign that prices going down again any time soon, Wall Street was feeling the pinch at the close of trading on Friday.
