Quick Reaction Force Mission: Are the German Armed Forces Prepared for the Situation in Afghanistan? - pp 04.02.2008

This summer the Bundeswehr will be sending in a group of 250 soldiers to replace Norwegian troops in Northern Afghanistan. The members of the Bundeswehr will be in a country that is at war and must expect hostile activity from the Taliban. The security situation in Afghanistan has deteriorated considerably over the past twelve months. The question is, however, how well trained and equipped are the German troops for their tour of duty in Afghanistan?
