Russian president Vladimir Putin is looking to consolidate his grip on the country's oil industry. Russian oil giant Rosneft- controlled by the Kremlin - has made an offer for British company's BP's stake in Russia's third largest oil producer TNK-BP. Rosneft is reported to be offering BP a cash and stock offer worth some 25 billion dollars. A decision by BP is likely within in the next few hours.
