The Simon Wiesenthal Center in Jerusalem announced on Wednesday it would start its “Operation Last Chance” campaign to track down the last Nazi criminals in Germany in November rather than September, as planned previously. The undertaking will involve advertising campaigns and telephone hotlines offering people rewards of up to €10,000 ($12,170) for helpful clues in finding Nazis. The campaign is currently underway in several European countries, including Austria, Poland and the Baltic states. In the period from April 1, 2003 to March 31, 2004, seven Nazi criminals, all of them in the United States, were sentenced for their deeds, the center said in a report released Wednesday.
