"I had little hope of being able to question the man," spokesman Thomas Teuber said without releasing any details besides saying the
victim, a member of the restaurant staff, died Monday.

Police found six dead people, all believed to be of Asian origin, in the restaurant in the town of Sittenson early Monday morning. All of them had been tied up. The bodies were spread across several rooms in the restaurant, police said

The bodies were found by a 47-year-old man who came to fetch his wife from the Lin Yue restaurant just after midnight. She was among the victims.

By late Monday morning, the police said they had no witnesses other than the man who found the bodies and no clues as to who might have been responsible. There was no immediate word on any possible motive.

Police appealed for anyone who visited the restaurant on Sunday evening, and to passers-by who may have seen anything suspicious, to come forward.

The authorities are continuing their investigation with suspicions now arising of possible Chinese Triad mafia involvement.
