Here in Germany, a parliamentary committee started its investigation into the events surrounding a controversial airstrike ordered by German troops in Afghanistan in September. Up to 142 people were killed, including civilians, in the attack on two fuel tankers hijacked by the Taliban. The Bunestag also discussed the issue in a special session.
