A fresh round of UN brokered peace talks over Cyprus was widely expected to have already been underway. But negotiations between President Nicos Anastasiades, who heads the internationally recognized Greek-Cypriot government, and Turkish-Cypriot leader Dervis Eroglu are in jeopardy of collapse before even starting.
