Croatia fined 100,000 euros

UEFA have issued Croatia with a 100,000 euro fine after crowd trouble marred their 2-2 draw with the Czech Republic on Friday. UEFA have also imposed restrictions on the sale of tickets to known hooligans.

The Croatian Football Federation has been been fined 100,000 euros after crowd trouble in the final minutes of their nation's 2-2 draw with the Czech Republic on Friday.

Flares were thrown onto the field in St Etienne, forcing English referee Mark Clattenburg to usher the players off the field in the 86th minute.

As Croatia's players approached their fans to appeal for calm, a further flare was thrown onto the pitch appearing to injure a steward.

The Croatian Federation has also been banned from selling tickets to fans identified as "hooligans". Although with tickets for Tuesday's crunch game against Spain already sold, the sanction will not take effect until after the tournament.

The fine follows the 150,000 euro fine issued to Russia after violence marred their 1-1 draw with England.

Torcida Split 1950, a Hajduk Split supporters' group, has posted on Facebook that it intends to disrupt Tuesday's Group D match against Spain in Bordeaux.
