Welcome to eco@africa
December 21, 2017This week's eco@africa takes you from Durban to Morocco!
First we see how the Maasai and tour operators are joining forces to protect Kenyan wildlife in the Amboseli National Park at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro.
After that we meet Chinma George, one of Nigeria's most vocal climate activists. She is an entrepreneur, public speaker and researcher as well as an advisor to institutions such as the African Climate Policy Centre and has new ideas about how West African countries can best adapt to climate change.
Then we try out a new app designed by a Danish company. "Too Good to Go" wants to combat food waste by allowing users to purchase leftovers from cafes, restaurants and bakeries on the cheap.
Finally, we head to Morocco. The country is facing the major challenge of implementing its ambitious climate protection plan and its modern urban mobility concept. But the country has its foot on the gas. In some major cities sustainable transport is already an everyday reality.
